30/365, snart 10 %… Akter kan även tolkas “handlingar”. Men eftersom jag älskar havet, har jag valt att tolka temat med en akter på en båt. En båt med underbar färg:)
Theme 30 of 365 in my photo challenge, soon 10 %… In Swedish the word “akter” also means “acts” in English. Though I love everything about the sea, I choose the interpretation “stern”. Amazing color on this boat:)

I find peace by the sea. There is nothing more calming than watching the water, the sky and just feel the nature surrounding. That is serenity for me.
I have lived near the archipelago all my life and I often go there, its beautiful all seasons, and it always offers peace to my mind.
The photos for this weeks challenge is taken in a place I used to pass every day to work. The mornings where stunning. A new day begins and that is a beautiful thing. Watching it by the sea is almost overwhelming, for me:)
Photos can hardly give justice to the real views but I hope these will show some of its greatness.
The new day begins and offers new opportunities. Every new day is a great gift. We should feel gratitude and salute every new day.
I love to walk by the seaside, all seasons, but especially autumn is a great time for long walks, recreation and to recover. Dark evenings and mornings make us go inside and have a peace and calming life while slowing down. It is highly needed and also enjoyable. If you ask me… Nature goes in to the same mood as I do and I love to walk outside and just enjoy the autumn sights.
The photos in this post is taken a few weeks a go when I was walking for a couple of hours. We have had a warm autumn this year and it has been very nice weather this far. But now I must say I beginning to long for some cold and snowy weather, it is about time:)

As you might already know: I love early mornings by the sea. The calmness is overwhelming and the light is wonderful. A moment of silence before the rest of the world wakes up.
This post is an entry in WP Daily Post weekly photo challenge. To see more entries or to participate, please click the link above! The theme for this week is silhouette, an artistic expression in photography if you ask me. I think silhouettes can be amazing and though they don’t show too much details they actually tell the pictures story. Amazing and fascinating.
My first photo is taken in the archipelago, late in December last year. The sun doesn’t get high up at that time of the year so all day is a “golden hour”. My kids and I had a day outdoors with some lunch out on the lonely beach. A great day:)
Next photo is taken on an evening walk, when the light was the same but this time it is taken in March and spring has arrived:)
Summer summary 2014
Summer is soon coming to an end. This year too…
I have gone through my photos for this summer and my summer summary contains a lot of activities outside, in nature and by the sea in the archipelago. A great summer that started with a lot of rain in June and later turned into a fantastic summer with a lot of sunny days.
Here you will find a lot of photos in a gallery that tell a lot about this summer from a rain wet rose in June to sunny days by the sea. This summer has been amazing and the photos will be enjoyed for a long time:) I will come back to them during the winter, I think it is a great way to keep the summer feeling for a longer time.
Some of the photos have been on this blog in earlier posts but I think they have to be included in this summary, I hope you don’t mind to enjoy them once more…

Time for another stage on the hiking trail Sörmlandsleden
This time we chose a hiking trail close to the Baltic sea. We started walking close by the water from the small village “Nävekvarn”.
Then we came to some smaller climbs which we had to climb to be able to enjoy the amazing views from above.
The hiking trail are prepared with some fire places, seats and also some windshields. We did not need any windshield this day, but it was nice to take a break by the sea and have some food and to dive into the water:)
Our walk continued into the forest… I must say the first half, by the sea was the nicest stage of this hiking trail. But I think the forest are a calming and nice place to be so it was absolutely OK to go that way. There are always the possibility to turn back and walk the same way, but I am glad we did not. This way we where offered a great variation in views and experiences through our day.

After rain, there is sunshine
Swedish people is always concerned about the weather. We talk about it almost everyday and everywhere. That means in the pub, in the office, in schools… I think it might have something to do with the fact that we can almost never trust the weather. There is just a few weeks of really great summer weather if we are lucky:)
And now for a few weeks we have had some shaky days with rain, sun, thunder, hail… Often when evening comes the rain stop and the sun breaks through all the clouds. And for me who loves great scenes and views this is awesome. The light is magic these evenings and the air feels all fresh. Some dramatic dark clouds combined with some sun makes wonderful subjects!
Another evening I visited our archipelago, and spotted some more dramatic skies. The rain stopped just before I arrived, and the sun came through. I enjoyed that visit a lot, below you can see some of the photos:
A contrast might be a lot of different things. It might be a color different from the surrounding or a shadow. I might also be a lonely flower in the street and so on.

Last evening I spent in one of my favorite places, situated in our archipelago. I went to a place where I have been many times, but it’s always amazing. This time there where a light wind and wonderful sounds from the sea. I always love the views, the smell from water and also the calmness it brings me.
Our weather is a bit moody this summer. We noticed it had just rained before we got there but the sun just returned. It created a wonderful evening light with great skies.
Of to the challenge now… The first to photos shows the same place at winter and now when it’s summer. You can spot a part of a cabin, that is where the lighthouse personnel lived during the years 1867-1954. The belfry were used to warn ships in misty weather.
Next photo shows the lighthouse, I like the contrast between manmade and nature.
The last photo for this challenge shows a silhouette of a man standing on a rock just beside the lighthouse.
Now it’s time for a poll, please tell me which photo do you favor? You might use multiple choices. The poll is open until 10th of July 2014.
Water is life giving
A view over the see, calms me down
The sea can be calm or wild, or everything between, always impressive and gorgeous
Without water we could not live, it is the source of life
Water is life-giving
The sea hold the water in the arms of nature, a living frame, just watch it move back and forward
Enjoy and relax

Celebrate a new day
The new day has just began. I leave home in an early hour, hardly awake. A song begins to sing all by itself in my head; “I give you the morning, I give you the day”… A beautiful song about love that makes my thoughts wake up. Is this a way to celebrate the new day; by driving almost sleeping on a bumpy road? When I could lie down beside someone dear and have some more hours sleep? Anyway, that is not the case right now and I better keep on driving to get this day over and done with.
I still can’t let go of the song and it keeps singing in my head. And the morning is actually a beautiful morning. The sun has just risen and the surrounding nature shows all the pure and fresh beauty that only can be seen in an early spring morning. There is a place just beside the road, it’s a small shore, well hidden from the crowd. In summertime you just get a glimpse of it between all the trees. In springtime it is more easy to spot.
– Well it’s now or never…
I have been driving this road for 15 years and I have never got out of my car to enjoy the fantastic sea view. I park my car just above the small shore and walk down. It feels really relieving to walk in the sand. The early sun salute me good morning and the light is amazing. Some small islands can be spotted through the light haze.
I decide to sit down for a while, there on the shore. The minutes pass, but I don’t care. Work will still be there… Small movement in the water. Sun reflecting from the sky. The scene is filled with hope, calmness and beauty. Now this is a great way to start a new day!
This post contains another portion of photographs from Stockholm, this time it is not street life, but Stockholm water.
Steam boats in Stockholm water
There are plenty of old steam boats in Stockholm, some of them is under recovering and others are in traffic. Just a few of them are real steam boats, most of them have a diesel motor instead of the steam generator. Most of the boats today traffic different routes in the archipelago for example to “Fjäderholmarna” or Vaxholm”. Many tourists go with the boats in summertime, so does a lot of natives. There are boats heading to “Djurgården”, on that route there are a lot of people traveling all year.
Here you can see some photos from the dockside and also the Stockholm water front, I have focused on closing up on the boats. I love the old boats and all wonderful details.
I hope you found these boats as wonderful as I do, if you ever visit Stockholm these are definitely worth looking for.
Another early morning on my way to work, the road passes our beautiful archipelago. The light is magic it is something in the air:)
Fortunately I happened to have my camera with me, not all days that happens… Beside the road I spotted (like every morning) the small beach and saw a wonderful scene. The sun had risen just an hour ago and it was a lovely morning in the archipelago. I’m glad I stopped by the beach that morning i March, my camera managed to capture the magic light quite well.
I will share what I saw this morning, hard to make the scene justice in photos, I hope you can get a clue about how it appeared to me:)
As you have noticed if you have read some of my earlier posts; I love the ocean view. Especially in the morning when the air is fresh and the new day is still untouched. The ocean brings me calmness and peace. To watch the water moving heals my soul.
