Hiking in Tyresta nature reserve and lunching with ducks

Tyresta nature reserve -wilderness without human involvement

I went hiking in Tyresta nature reserve, it was almost magic. I must say that we really was hit by the beauty of wilderness during our hike. In Tyresta Nationalpark we found 400 year old pine trees. Really cool and beautiful.

Dead tree in all its beauty, giving life to lots of insects:

We passed lakes and small ponds, also there was lots of wetland:

Amazing view in the old forest:

A magic place for lunch break! I had some ducks as company. They later became really interested in my food:

If you love outdoors life and hiking and are thinking about visiting Sweden: Tyresta is a nice place with total 50 km hiking trails. You can find simple walking paths to some harder “climbing”. The landscaper is variated with many wonderful views.

Weekly photo challenge: Unusual

I usually don’t take photos of flowers that have faded.

We have had a dry summer with only small amounts of rain, and in some way I have forgotten to give water to these poor flowers.

The theme this week is unusual and this is my interpretation:

Hiking in a landscape of magic forest and lakes

A magic forest with fantastic scenery

Yesterday I was hiking in a magic forest. I know it sounds a bit goofy byt I do think nature is magic and I love to spend time in the forest. So for me it’s all magic.

We passed to small lakes on the way. One of the lakes had a surface covered by water lilies.

magic forest

The other lake was situated above this one. We found out they where connected by a old floodgate. No water was flowing between the lakes this day.

During our hike we passed green trees but also dead trees…

We ended up at a third lake. We sat down there for a while, and enjoyed the stillness:

And finally I captured the sun behind a cloud on the surface of the lake:

Summer morning walk by the sea

Holiday and summer morning

Aaah, summer morning… And a sunny morning too. This is my favourite condition above all, to wake up and the sun is shining. To be able to just get my clothes on, grab my camera and go out for a walk.

Warm morning sun, my soul is calming down and I enjoy every step I take.

Just like my soul, also the water is calm. I can see every detail from the surroundings, reflecting in the water. The sea is blue with small clouds on the surface. Once again I get fascinated about how great artist nature is.

Hiking in Nynäs nature reserve

We visited the nature reserve at Nynäs

Today it was the first sunny day, in several days. We went to Nynäs nature reserve for some hiking. I return here every year but it is always amazing. I always like the stunning view, climbing up a small mountain. Our walk began at the castle and we walked past a bed and breakfast. We arrived at the lake and started climbing. It is a rather small mountain so we where done quickly.

Beginning beside the castle:

We passed a small spring:

Many people visit the Bed and Breakfast every year, beside the house is the lake, a bridge and a small boat:

We had climbed all the way up the mountain and got a great view over the Bed and Breakfast, a wonderful old house:

On our way back, we returned to the castle:

When you visit Nynäs you can also go inside the castle and look at the exhibition, there is also a great restaurant and a garden shop with plants.

If you prefer to go for a longer hike, there is a great path of Sörmlandsleden that is about 30 km, you can start by Nynäs Castle. We walked that path last year and had one overnight in our tent. I promise you a wonderful experience and great nature all the way:-)

Magic walk among old textile industries

A sunny day among old textile industries

Several times yearly I go to Norrköping for a walk in the magic landscape of old textile industries. There I find a mixture of old buildings, waterfalls and artistic galleries, museums and bars. A paradise if you love to take photos, many cool views there!

First photo is like a fairytale, roses in front of a building:

As my walk continues I find so much to watch and enjoy, small details and large views:

Another angle of this huge waterfall:

This small tree by the water was so beautiful and made such a great contrast to the grey wall:

A man was building a new walk path beside the old houses, I can’t wait to walk over there:

A really cool bar, unfortunately not open at the moment I passed:

I end up with a tower like building that are heading for the clouds:

Thanks for reading and watching my photos, I hope you enjoyed!

A day in the archipelago

Beautiful archipelago enviroment

Getting some time off on a warm summer day… What should I be doing?

I guess that you who has followed me for a while can take a guess. When I get time off I go outdoors, hiking or just relaxing. This beautiful May day I went to the archipelago for a short walk.

Tourist in my home town, walking by our old castle

Today I took some time to refuel in the middle of the day. It’s hard staying inside studying all day when the sun is shining outside.

I went for a few hours walk in my town and looked at the miracle of spring. I experienced so much beauty. It’s good to look at familiar things from a strangers perspective.

I walked by the small river and passed the castle, which is from around year 1300… The sky was incredible blue, I love when the sky is blue! I passed small houses, water and flowers, a great path to walk.

By the way, I took some photos on my walk and I hope you can see some of the beauty in my small home town:-)

Happy may to all of you

As you might have noticed, it’s not much posts here at the moment. Right now I work with the last tasks in my education and I will be finished by June, 2.

Working an studying at the same time takes a lot of time… I don’t even get out much, so I’m not taking much photos.

I hope to see you this summer and continued. There will be more photos here and I will get time to stay outdoors!

Until then I wish you a wonderful May <3

Wonderful Weekend escape

Another wonderful weekend has come to an end

This weekend was amazing, first days of spring with sun and a stunning blue sky. We went out for a short hike, for some time in the sun and to eat some food outdoors.

We had a really wonderful weekend out there in the sun, with small projects like making a fire and cooking lunch:-) Hot chocolate is a must for my familiy on such hiking trip.

Wonderful Weekend

After lunch we went looking at the amazing views around the lake. This lake is called Nävsjön and is a great place to visit all year. There were people out on the lake, fishing, I would not have gone out on the ice, but I guess they knew what they where doing.

Reflecting sun, slowly melting the ice.

The ice is melting fast and I wonder how long it is possible to sit on the ice for fishing.

Nature is a great artist, I think the color mix is stunning and spot on or what do you think?

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Road Taken

Interesting discoveries on the road taken

As a person who loves to hike, I have walked many roads:) I walk in the forest, by the sea in the archipelago. I walk in mountains and in cities and it’s always exciting to find out what’s around the corner.

Cities are fascinating. There is always some kind of surprises and they hold a lot of different environments: houses, parks, shops, streets, water and so on. My interpretation of this weeks WordPress Photo Challenge brings me back to Stockholm and a trip to the south part of the city. On this walk I found small gardens with sunflowers:

Suddenly when I looked up, I saw a clear blue sky and some wonderful old houses, reaching for the sky.

I continued my walk on a narrow path and came back to city streets, and the view was amazing. I strolled down the street and continued my walk down the road taken.

Dreaming about winter meets spring

Wonderful times when winter meets spring

I love when winter meets spring, don’t you do that to? We haven’t had much winter lately, not for several years. 5-6 years ago we had some fantastic winters in opposite to the latest years. We had lots of snow and then spring arrived. As a result the snow was slowly melting in the warm sun, much as it “should be”, according to me.

While I have been looking in my photo archives I have found some amazing winter photos. It seems like we have had days that are cold and crispy, while the sun light makes the whole world several shades lighter.

I also found wonderful, sunny spring day with melting ice. Finally the sea is slowly winning the fight against the compact ice and it breaks apart.

It’s lovely to see how finally the spring wins the fight and the water gets it’s freedom. It’s much the opposite to last year when we did not even notice that winter turned into spring. The last photos in this post is taken in springtime and summer. Both with wonderful evening light and stunning reflection. I hope you will enjoy and leave your opinion below about winter meets spring! What do you think about when you see this photos?

The Weekly Photo Challenge: Shadow

Light and Shadow

Light that create a shadow -different sides of the same coin:) I love the structure of shadows on the wall and the possibility to create different structures, playing with different light and source of light. Of course the shadow is also created by the object in focus. These components are one of the central things in photography, when I take photos indoors. I think it’s similar to all artistic expressions, that it is all about playing with and interpreting the surroundings. Fun and enjoyable!

This post is a interpretation of the theme in the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge. I hope you enjoy the picture and if you would like to see more photos of shadows please click here.
